I took it in my bag to a festival and even there I got compliments on the design of the pump.

Every other week we ask a Real Mom if they would like the NurtureGoods experience. These moms use a breast pump from NurtureGoods in order to describe and share their experiences. This way we hope to raise awareness of the NurtureGoods experience and help you make a choice. This week, it's mom Anne Marie's turn. Will you read along?

From pumping by hand to the electric breast pump from NurtureGoods, a world opened up for me!

First of all, let me introduce myself. I am Anne Marie, 26 years young and a real boy mama of two. Bobbie James of 2.5 years and with that came our little sweet Lio on July 31. When asked "do you want to breastfeed?" There was always a resounding yes. You always have it with you and to be honest, it saves a lot of money. And most importantly, it is mega healthy!

With our first son, breastfeeding went like clockwork from day one. Soon came the frustration of latching on. If it didn't work out, he was done with it, so I quickly switched to pumping. And what a pump. A manual one. Who knows why I never considered buying an electric pump back then. I simply didn't think about it as a brand new mother I guess. What a disaster I thought it was. Cramped hands and incredibly sore nipples. Nipple cream was my best friend to make it work anyway. Unfortunately, I didn't keep this up for very long and we switched to formula. Funnily enough, I was at peace with it at that point too.

And so there was attempt two. That I wanted to do it differently this time was already pretty clear to me. I felt very strongly that this time I really wanted breastfeeding to succeed and preferably without aids such as a pump. Just, nice and easy on the boob. I had it all figured out so beautifully but still things often turn out (not quite) the way you envision.

Again, feeding started incredibly well, I breastfed and it went exactly as it should for me. During the maternity week, together with the midwife, I grabbed the pump and we put it together although I didn't need it yet. I wanted us to master breastfeeding together first.

'What a pretty thing huh' we both said. I love interiors and beautiful design, so it is a treat for the eye and doesn't even look out of place in the home.

And finally after over three years (pregnancy- corona- pregnancy 2) there was an unplanned evening of cocktails with a friend on the beach by a setting sun. Within half an hour I had to be ready and then the stress kicked in. ' pumping' I had to pump! If only I had tried it and read up on how it works' I thought. Within no time, read 5 minutes, I had 2 bottles full, on which my son could feast all evening. Without fuss and above all without pain. I was really amazed at what this pump was able to produce in just a few minutes... without reading the instructions. And so my pumping adventure happened.

From then on, I started taking the pump in regularly; what a relief the NurtureGoods Smart 3.0 is! Through the touchscreen you can choose from nine different modes that regulate the power. Thus, there is something for every woman! In addition, for women with flatter nipples there is a mode that helps to stimulate them so that the nipple fits snugly into the membrane and they too can pump without any problems (I do not use it myself, by the way).

Because I do not pump full-time, but alternate with breastfeeding, I cannot say exactly how many sessions the pump will last. But the way I use it now, the battery lasts an incredibly long time before it needs to be charged again, which is great!

I would have liked to be able to choose the breastplate size beforehand. Size S comes with it as standard and for me it depends on whether or not I need a larger breastplate.

So all in all, I am not a breast pump expert but I am extremely happy with the NurtureGoods 3.0! What a nice device. I took it in my bag to a festival (will spare you how uncomfortable I found that) and even there I got a compliment (from a man) about the design of the pump. That's saying something!
