I got up from the wheelchair, and James' head was already visible. 10 cm of dilation in an hour!
Every other week we ask a Real Mom if they would like the NurtureGoods experience. These moms use a breast pump from NurtureGoods in order to describe and share their experiences. In this way, we hope to raise awareness of the NurtureGoods experience and help you make a choice. This week it's mom Marianne's turn. Will you read along?

Mother's struggle, victory and love for her three beautiful children
Hey, how nice that you took the time to read my blog for @nurturegoods.official. My name is Marianne, 27 years old and mom of three beautiful little kids. After two girls, our son James was born in April. The Benjamin.
Even before I was pregnant with James, I had the desire to breastfeed. Not with all of our children did this work out. With our oldest daughter Liv, I bottle-fed. With Noé, I unfortunately decided to switch to bottle feeding during maternity week due to a lot of clefts. I noticed that emotionally this did trigger something in me. It seemed so wonderful to be able to feed my baby. I could only hope that one day I would get to try it again.
And that day came, because during my third pregnancy I was very sure about one thing. I was going to breastfeed. But I also knew this was going to take a lot of patience and perseverance with two more kids running around the house.
James' birth lasted a whopping 1 hour and 15 minutes. At 1 p.m. I wanted to take an afternoon nap with my middle daughter. She fell asleep peacefully and I felt my membranes break. I jumped up and ran to the bathroom for a clean cloth. Thankfully, clear amniotic fluid.
The contractions came on very well right away. I felt everything that it would go very fast. I called my husband and my mother and asked them to come to me as soon as possible. Then I called the hospital; we could come. Because I indicated that I felt it would go very fast, they sent a midwife to our house just to be sure. At 1:20 p.m., the midwife arrived at our house. By now my mother and husband had also arrived.
I was 5 cm dilated and we quickly left for the hospital. The contractions became very strong in the car and I felt the urge to push. I asked my husband not to talk to me because I had to focus on pushing away the contractions. I remained calm and composed, but felt the contractions taking over my body.
We arrived at the hospital at 1:55 p.m. The midwife ran as fast as she could with me in the wheelchair to the delivery room. I got up from the wheelchair, and the head of my James was already visible. 10 cm dilation in an hour! I could hardly believe it. We thought it would be a very nice idea for my husband to handle our baby during the birth, the midwife asked him to come stand with me on his squats. I was allowed to start pushing immediately and so at 2:14 pm our beautiful son and baby brother was born. Our third baby. Our first son, so in love and so intensely happy.
We lay skin-to-skin for hours and cuddled the three of us. I will never forget the first feeding moment. My husband stood to support me and spoke loving things to me. James knew exactly what to do. During this moment we were able to recover from the lightning fast delivery.
The maternity week went quietly and well. My wonderful maternity nurse gave the right guidance and tips on breastfeeding. Soon I started pumping. Besides the fact that we felt it was important for James to learn to drink bottles, pumping also allowed me to occasionally free up my hands to do something fun with the other children: Liv and Noé. Dad enjoyed being able to give a bottle once in a while.
All I can say is that I am very excited about the breast pump from NurtureGoods. The pump has really helped me make my breastfeeding adventure easier. The pump is one of my ultimate momlife tips because I really like the device.
A cordless double pump and very easy to use. Not too much fuss. Just what I need as a mother of three. The different positions on the pump allowed me to build up the pumping slowly and gave my breasts time to get used to it. The pump has no less than nine different positions to regulate the power. What is a big plus for me personally about this pump is the memory function. This way, the pump is immediately set correctly for each session. Just press the button and the pumping session can begin. The pump also has a beautiful design. I am very happy with this pump and can recommend it to every mother!
